Waist tape is twill tape, tailor's tape, or other sturdy ribbon used to re-enforce the waistline of a corset. It's not essential, but it does increase the durability of a corset by easing stress on the seams along the the highest stress point - the waist line. This tutorial describes several different methods of including waist tape in your corset.

I love tutorials! If ever I get up the nerve to try corsetry, this shall be so useful! I adore the way you do tutorials, too! They are so tasteful and uncluttered, yet so very informative!

:aww: If you are interested in sewing, I believe it's worth at least trying corsetry, if for no other reason than because it is so challenging in a way rather unlike most other sewing.

I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorials. I have other guides posted in blog-form to my web site, and am planning over time to write more comprehensive tutorials on sewing and corsetry in particular.
