And now for something completely different.....

15"x9", graphite pencil on paper
~22 hours of work
Uruhara from Bleach anime and manga
Reference: one head shot from the anime, and anatomical reference books

I made some changes to the drawing so Uruhara wouldn't look so emaciated and plastic, and re-uploaded it. I know the anatomy still has issues, so if anyone better with human anatomy than myself feels like redlining this and bouncing me a copy, I would be greatful.

This is an early birthday present for my best friend. Uruhara is her favorite character from the Bleach anime, and so she requested a fan pic of him. I was originally thinking about drawing him in the Captain's robes, but then she jokingly told me she wanted a yaoi drawing.

When I was sketching this picture, I had originally intended to draw him with his outercoat over his shoulders and no shirt, but after drawing in the figure I decided he didn't need anything on his top. When drawing something with clothes on, I always draw in the form of the person first so that I can get the clothes to hang in the right places.

Since this is fanart and I won't be selling prints at any time, I have uploaded a 600dpi version. That way you can make your own prints at home if you want to. There are a lot of details that cannot be seen on the reduced image, like his stubble and a faint, blond happy trail.

If you repost this image, PLEASE give me credit and a link back here. Have some courtesy and decency about it.

Thanks so much for showing me that! That really makes a huge difference in the appearance, and I'm sure it will help a lot with the accuracy of my future drawings. I hadn't realized how big of a difference such a small movement in its placement would make. Unfortunately, though, I don't think I could completely erase the existing lines enough to be able to move the entire forearm to the left. I'm pretty sure it would tear up the paper, and still leave ghost lines where I wouldn't want them. I think the softenning of the shadows I did before this upload are about as far as I can take it without redrawing the entire picture.

Thanks again!
!!! O__O!! This is so incredible!! OMGoodness! I absolutely love this picture!! The shading and lighting are both really, really good as are his hands and his hair! O3O The little details really add to this whole image...woooow....I loooove his torso! It's incredibly detailed and realistic. Lovely!! >3<:love:
