Cream Silk Underbust With Lace

Commissioned underbust corset with dupioni silk cover and lace edging. The core is two layers of coutil, and it is lined with cotton muslin.

This is not a tight-lacing corset, but it does have a lot of hip spring, so I decided to try an 8-panel design rather than the usual six. I like the smoothness of the shape a lot better than the last tight-lacing corset I made, so in the future I am planning to use more panels on my tightlacing corsets as well.

The lace is a 100% rayon venice lace edging, which I hand-tacked to the corset along the entire length to prevent the longer parts from curling away from the body of the corset.
